Bristol-Myers Squibb Appoints Giovanni Caforio COO - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Bristol-Myers Squibb Co.(BMY) Monday named Giovanni Caforio as its chief operating officer, and was elected to the board, effective June 5, 2014.

In addition to his current role as chief commercial officer, Caforio will add leadership responsibility for the company-wide functions of Enterprise Services and Global Manufacturing & Supply, said the company. He will continue to report to Chief Executive, Lamberto Andreotti.

Caforio joined the company in 2000 as vice president and general manager, Italy, and served in leadership roles for Greece, South East Europe, and in 2004, was named senior vice president of European Marketing and Brand Commercialization. Earlier to joining Bristol-Myers, Caforio spent 12 years in Abbott Laboratories. (ABT)
