BE Group AB: BE Group Invests SEK 26 million in Production Services in Finland

BE Group (STO:BEGR) continues to pursue its strategy of expanding the service share of sales. As part of that it has been decided that the company will invest about SEK 26 million in production service machinery for mainly stainless steel and aluminium in Lapua and Lahti in Finland.

The largest part of the investment is laser cutting and water jet cutting machines for processing of stainless steel, acid resistant and aluminium to be able to better provide customer adjusted ready-made products. Also included are investments in bending, drilling, machining and blasting to increase the capacity to deliver steel parts in carbon steel.

"Our aim is to within 3-4 years increase the total service share of sales up to 50% for the whole of BE Group. Our company is the biggest within stainless steel in the Nordic market and the demand for more advanced products increases in that product area, especially in Finland. Therefore it is natural to continue to invest in new machinery to be able to satisfy our customers”, says Håkan Jeppsson president and CEO of BE Group.

The new investments will take place in the sites of Lapua and Lahti. Construction will start as soon as possible and the facility is expected to go operational during Q4 2009.
