Badar Baqai to Lead LSI Logic IP Products and Solutions Organization

MILPITAS, Calif., March 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- LSI Logic Corporation today appointed Badar Baqai as Vice President Engineering of the IP Products and Solutions organization within Custom Solutions Group Marketing. As part of the company's initiative to become a market-focused provider, Baqai will lead the IP Products and Solutions organization to internally develop differentiating silicon, robust intellectual property (IP) and establish a network of third-party IP providers to develop the industry's most comprehensive IP portfolio. Baqai reports to Jeff Richardson, executive vice president, Custom Solutions Group.

Previously, Baqai was CEO of Cautella, a Silicon Valley-based start-up company that addresses the emerging need of mobile enterprise workforce to access corporate applications securely. He has more than 25 years of experience in designing and managing in both semiconductor and system development. Baqai has also held executive positions at Silicon Image, Fujitsu Microelectronics and Sun Microsystems.

"Badar's extensive design and management experience in both the consumer and storage markets will help us focus our business on these growth markets, enabling us to leverage our silicon-to-systems expertise," said Richardson. Baqai will be responsible for integrating IP into a comprehensive set of applications to enable LSI to engage with customers at the system level.
