Atlassian To Acquire Trello For $425 Mln.
(RTTNews) - Australian software maker Atlassian Corp. Monday said it agreed to purchase privately-held collaboration software maker Trello Inc. for $425 million.
Atlassian is paying about $360 million in cash and the remainder in stock, the company said.
The acquisition will expand Atlassian's leadership in powering all types of teamwork, and adds a new collaboration service - popular with business teams - to the company's products, Atlassian said in a statement.
Trello is a breakout collaboration service that has over 19 million registered users. The service has been rapidly adopted in more than 100 countries around the world by a wide range of teams, from disaster relief agencies in the U.K. to a cafe in Brazil.
The deal is expected to close in the third quarter of 2017, subject to certain closing conditions and regulatory clearance. For fiscal 2017, the acquisition is expected to be dilutive to earnings per share and to adjusted earnings per share. For fiscal 2018, the acquisition is expected to be dilutive to earnings per share and neutral to slightly accretive to adjusted earnings per share.
