Assisi Animal Health Lists Four Common Health Problems in Pets During the Winter

Antifreeze. Antifreeze is highly toxic to pets. Unfortunately, its sweet smell attracts dogs and cats. It is rapidly absorbed and has a high mortality rate. If your pet has ingested antifreeze, it may vomit, stumble, or exhibit symptoms of depression. If you suspect your pet has ingested antifreeze, take it to the vet immediately. Make sure you keep your antifreeze out of your pet's reach.

Arthritis. The colder temperatures combined with damp weather, exacerbates arthritis in your pets. Although it can appear in puppies and kittens, it is more common in middle-aged and elderly pets.
