Archer-Daniels-Midland Profit Rises 18% In Q1

(RTTNews) - Archer-Daniels-Midland (ADM) announced earnings for its first quarter that rose compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line rose to $678 million, or $0.60 per share. This was up from $573 million, or $0.42 per share, in last year's first quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.62 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 4.2% to $14.99 billion. This was up from $14.38 billion last year.
