Archer-Daniels-Midland Bottom Line Declines 21% In Q2

(RTTNews) - Archer-Daniels-Midland (ADM) revealed earnings for second quarter that lost ground from last year.

The company said its profit declined to $573 million, or $0.41 per share. This was lower than $724 million, or $0.60 per share, in last year's second quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.45 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 9.1% to $15.63 billion. This was down from $17.19 billion last year.
