Amgen Inc. Profit Climbs 19% In Q4

(RTTNews) - Amgen Inc. (AMGN) revealed earnings for its fourth quarter that advanced from last year.

The company said its bottom line advanced to $1.99 billion, or $2.61 per share. This was higher than $1.67 billion, or $2.16 per share, in last year's fourth quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $2.29 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 3.9% to $5.54 billion. This was up from $5.33 billion last year.
