AMC Networks Q2 Profit Surges, Revenue Up 16% - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - AMC Networks Inc. (AMCX) Thursday reported increased profit for the second quarter, supported by a 16 percent increase in revenues.

Net income for the quarter climbed to $135.73 million from $41.51 million in the prior year. Earnings per share surged to $1.87 from $0.58.

On average, 13 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings of $0.78 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Net revenues increased 15.8 percent to $379.32 million from $327.57 million in the prior year. Analysts expected revenues of $368.08 million.

National Networks revenues climbed 15.9 percent to $354 million while International and Other revenues grew 14 percent to $30 million.
