ALLTEL Employees in Ohio Ratify Contract

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 13, 2005--ALLTEL (NYSE:AT) local telephone employees represented by the Communications Workers of America in Elyria and Kenton, Ohio, have ratified a new labor contract.
    About 60 employees are covered by the three-year agreement.
    "This agreement is consistent with those reached with our employees in more than a dozen bargaining groups last year," said Susan Schraibman, vice president of wireline services, based at Hudson, Ohio. "The agreement gives ALLTEL the continuing flexibility to meet customer needs in a changing industry."
