Aflac Sponsors National Discussion on Childhood Cancer in Washington DC

WASHINGTON, Sept. 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Aflac, the leading provider of voluntary insurance sales at the worksite in the U.S. and a committed corporate ally in the fight against childhood cancer, today sponsored Children & Cancer, a national discussion on childhood cancer along with Atlantic Media at the Newseum in Washington D.C.

Eight-year old Caroline Belcher from Virginia addresses the audience at today's Children & Cancer Forum sponsored by Aflac, which has contributed more than $118 million for the treatment and research of childhood cancer. Caroline told her emotional story about her battle with multiple brain tumors.

The event included a touching conversation between Aflac Chief Communications Officer Catherine Blades and eight-year old Caroline Belcher from Virginia, who is a survivor of multiple brain tumors. Additional participants included informative panel discussions with Representative Brian Higgins (D-NY), Co-Chair of the Congressional Cancer Caucus, along with experts, survivors and physicians from various hospitals and institutions across the country.  Since 1995 Aflac and its individual sales agents have contributed more than $118 million for the treatment and research of childhood cancer.
