Jena (Germany), October 29, 2014 - Analytik Jena AG (Prime Standard: AJA, ISIN: DE0005213508) will close the previous financial year 2013/2014 behind the profit expectations despite the almost achieved revenue targets. In the context of the preliminary, unaudited financial figures the manufacturer of analytical instrumentation technology, life science instruments and optoelectronics expects an operating profit (EBIT) considerably below the originally forecasted EUR 3.0 m.

The profit numbers, that are below expectations, are especially attributable to a lower operating business in the Analytical Instrumentation business unit and considerable delays in the Project Business. The declined sales in the political crisis regions Russia and Middle East could only be partially compensated by other regions. The profit of the business units Life Science and Optics are also below expectations. Furthermore, the revenue development in Japan where extensive restructuring measures of the company are already completed, was below expectations.
