U.S. Non-Manufacturing Index Falls More Than Expected In December
(RTTNews) - Activity in the U.S. service sector grew at a notably slower rate in the month of December, according to a report released by the Institute for Supply Management on Tuesday, with the index of activity in the sector falling by more than anticipated.
The ISM said its non-manufacturing index dropped to 56.2 in December from 59.3 in November. While a reading above 50 indicates continued growth in the service sector, economists had expected the index to show a more modest drop to 58.0.
