Sweden Jobless Rate At 8-Month Low
(RTTNews) - Sweden's unemployment rate decreased less-than-expected in July to the lowest level in eight months, figures from Statistics Sweden showed Thursday.
The jobless rate fell to 6.3 percent in July from 7.6 percent in the previous month. Economists had expected the rate to drop to 5.9 percent.
The latest unemployment rate was the weakest since November last year, when it marked 6.2 percent.
The number of unemployed people decreased to 341,000 in July from 414,000 in June.
At the same time, smoothed and seasonally adjusted jobless rate held steady for the second straight month at 6.9 percent in July.
