South Korean Consumer Confidence Falls In October
(RTTNews) - South Korea's consumer confidence weakened slightly in October to the lowest level in four months, survey data from the Bank of Korea showed on Tuesday.
The consumer sentiment index decreased to 109.8 in October from 110.1 in the previous month. Nonetheless, a score above 100 indicates a positive outlook.
The sub-index measuring the future domestic economic situation dropped to 94 from 97 in September. Meanwhile, assessment about the current economic situation remained stable at 91.
Consumers' view about their current living standards also held steady at 96, and that concerning the future outlook remained unchanged at 100.
Sentiment related to future household income stood at a stable score of 102, and that concerning future household spending was also steady at 110.
The expected inflation rate for the coming year was 2.6 percent in October compared to 2.5 percent projected in September. The survey was conducted among 2,500 households between October 14 and 21.
