South Africa Wholesale Sales Plunge 7.3%

(RTTNews) - South Africa's wholesale trade declined sharply in November after a strong rebound in October, preliminary data from Statistics South Africa showed on Thursday.

At constant prices, wholesale sales dropped an unadjusted 7.3 percent year-on-year in November after a 4.9 percent increase in the previous month, which was the first growth in fifteen months.

On a monthly basis, wholesale sales fell a seasonally adjusted 3.1 percent in November, in contrast to a 3.5 percent growth in October.

In the three months ending November, total wholesale trade rose 0.2 percent compared with the previous three-month period.
