Slovenia Economy Expands For Second Quarter
(RTTNews) - Slovenia's economy expanded for the second quarter running in the first three months of the year, a report from the Statistical Office Of the Republic Of Slovenia showed Friday.
Gross domestic product grew an unadjusted 1.9 percent year-over-year in the first quarter, after an expansion of 2.1 percent in the fourth quarter.
Imports grew at a slower rate in the first quarter at 2.3 percent, after rising 4.9 percent in the previous three months. Gross capital formation dropped 0.2 percent, after a 22.6 percent surge in the previous quarter. Exports grew 4.7 percent.
On a month-on-month basis, GDP fell a seasonally adjusted 0.3 percent in the first quarter, following 1.2 percent growth in the fourth quarter. After seasonal adjustments, yearly growth was 1.5 percent, slower than previous quarter's 1.9 percent.
