China Trade Data Due On Tuesday
(RTTNews) - China will on Tuesday release December numbers for imports, exports and trade balance, highlighting a modest day for Asia-Pacific economic activity.
Imports are expected to fall 6.6 percent on year after shedding 6.7 percent in November. Exports are called higher by an annual 5.9 percent after gaining 4.7 percent in the previous month. The trade balance is tipped to show a surplus of $48.0 billion, down from $54.47 billion a month earlier.
Japan will see November numbers for current account plus December data for bank lending, bankruptcies and the eco watchers survey.
The current account is expected to show a surplus of 139.5 billion yen, down from 833.4 billion yen in October. Bank lending was up 2.8 percent on year in November, while bankruptcies tumbled 14.61 percent. The eco watchers survey for current conditions came in at 41.5 in November, while the outlook was at 44.0.
