China Inflation On Tap For Friday

(RTTNews) - China will on Friday release inflation data for January, highlighting a modest day for Asia-Pacific economic activity.

Consumer prices are expected to rise 2.4 percent on year, slowing from 2.5 percent in December. Producer prices are tipped to fall 1.6 percent on year after easing 1.4 percent in the previous month.

Singapore will provide retail sales data for December; in November, retail sales were up 0.1 percent on month and down 8.7 percent on year.

Indonesia will see Q4 figures for current account; in the third quarter, the current account deficit was $8.45 billion.

Malaysia will release Q4 numbers for gross domestic product; in Q3, GDP was up 1.7 percent.

Finally, markets in Thailand are closed on Friday for Makha Bucha Day, and will re-open on Monday.
