Australia Construction Sector Sees Mild Expansion
(RTTNews) - An index measuring activity in Australia's construction sector came in with a score of 50.8 in December, the latest survey from the Australia Industry Group revealed on Wednesday.
That's down sharply from the revised 55.0 in November (originally 55.2) - although it remains above the boom-or-bust score of 50 that separates expansion from contraction.
Among the individual components of the survey, the house building sub-sector climbed from 62.0 to 63.5. Commercial construction and apartment building also saw solid numbers, as did new orders.
