ARGENTINA: Country And United Arab Emirates Plan To Boost Bilateral Trade

(RTTNews) - Argentina and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) intend to boost bilateral exchange, expanding and diversifying their current trading ties. Both countries presented interest in their respective markets at the sidelines of the 72nd United Nations General Assembly, held in New York City.

At a meeting between the Argentinean Foreign Minister Jorge Faurie and the UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Faurie said that Argentina "can contribute even more to one of the main policies of the Arab region: food security," according to a statement released by Buenos Aires.

Regarding energy issues, Argentina considers the UAE as a strategic partner, with a specific interest in the conclusion of a bilateral agreement on renewable power sources.

"Faurie and his colleagues discussed a possible cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy for technological developments and research," Argentina said in the statement.
