Alphamin cuts 2025 tin guidance amid Congo conflict disruptions

Alphamin Resources (TSXV: AFM) has lowered its full-year tin production forecast to 17,500 tonnes, down from its earlier guidance of 20,000 tonnes, due to recent conflict-related disruptions at its Bisie mine in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.The company reported that tin output in the first quarter of 2025 dropped 18% to 4,270 tonnes, compared to 5,237 tonnes in Q4 2024. The decline follows a temporary halt in operations in March after Rwanda-backed M23 rebels advanced into the nearby town of Walikale.Shares of Alphamin Resources fell 1.2% by midday Thursday, for a market capitalization of C$1.05 billion ($760 million).Bisie, which contributes roughly 6% of the world’s tin supply, resumed processing stockpiled ore this week after rebels withdrew from the area. Alphamin noted that underground mining operations are expected to restart later this month.Last year, the mine produced approximately 17,300 tonnes of tin.
