New York, July 14, 2014 -- Moody's Investors Service has upgraded Rímac Seguros y Reaseguros' ("Rímac") insurance financial strength (IFS) rating to Baa2, from Baa3. The rating outlook is now stable. Rímac is the largest Peruvian insurer, based on premiums written, and underwrites property and casualty (P&C) and life-and-health insurance coverages to individuals and a wide range of corporations. The company is majority-owned by Inversiones Breca S.A., a leading financial/industrial conglomerate group in Perú that controlled by the Brescia family.
