Toronto, July 23, 2013 -- Canadian supermarkets exhibit Baa risk characteristics, and are comparable to larger and more diverse international peers as they have good margins and leverage, says Moody's Investors Service in the report "Canadian Supermarkets Have Strong Credit Metrics Despite Their Relatively Modest Scale." Moody's does not rate any of the Canadian supermarkets but the agency follows this industry because of the growing presence of rated international players in the domestic market.
