Monsanto Company -- Moody's assigns A3 rating to Monsanto's new notes
New York, April 07, 2015 -- Moody's Investors Service assigned A3 ratings to Monsanto Company's (Monsanto) new $800 million senior unsecured notes issued in two tranches ($300 million of notes due 2025 and $500 million of notes due 2045). Proceeds from the new notes will be used for general corporate purposes, including share repurchases and capital expenditures. Although, given Monsanto's previously announced share repurchase program, this incremental debt will largely be used to repurchase additional shares. The outlook is stable.
