Monsanto Company -- Moody's assigns A3 rating to Monsanto's new notes
New York, January 16, 2015 -- Moody's Investors Service assigned A3 ratings to Monsanto Company's (Monsanto) new $365 million 4.3% senior unsecured notes due 2045. Proceeds from the new notes will be used for general corporate purposes. However, given Monsanto's previously announced $10 billion share repurchase program, Moody's believes that this incremental debt will largely be used to repurchase additional shares. The outlook is stable.
