Monsanto Company -- Moody's Assigns A1 Ratings to Monsanto's Notes
New York, November 04, 2013 -- Moody's Investors' Service assigned A1 ratings to Monsanto Company's (Monsanto's) new $1 billion of senior unsecured notes. Monsanto plans to issue three tranches of debt -- three, five and 30 year notes. On November 1, 2013, Monsanto announced it had closed on the acquisition of The Climate Corporation for $930 million. Proceeds from the notes will be used to repay commercial paper used to fund the transaction and for general corporate purposes. The outlook is stable.
