New York, July 22, 2014 -- Moody's Investors Service has affirmed the Aa1 insurance financial strength rating of Government Employees Insurance Company (GEICO) and the Aa3 senior unsecured debt rating of its immediate parent, GEICO Corporation. The rating outlook for these entities is stable, reflecting GEICO's strong market presence and healthy underwriting results. GEICO Corporation is wholly owned by National Indemnity Company (NICO -- insurance financial strength Aa1 stable), the flagship reinsurer owned by Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (Berkshire -- senior unsecured debt Aa2 stable, NYSE: BRK-A).
