New York, July 29, 2014 -- Moody's today announced that the ratings of CONSOL Energy Inc. (CONSOL), including the Ba3 corporate family rating and B1 senior unsecured rating, are unchanged as a result of its offer to issue an additional $200 million of its 5.875% senior notes due 2022. CONSOL initially offered and sold $1.6 billion aggregate principal amount of notes of the same series on April 16, 2014, and Moody's assigned a B1 rating to the notes at that time. Moody's expects the add-on notes to have identical terms, other than the issue date and price, as the original notes. Moody's expects that the proceeds of the offering will be used to fund the purchase of up to $200 million principal amount of CONSOL's 8.25% senior notes due 2020. The outlook on CONSOL's ratings remains negative.
