Yum! Brands Inc. Q3 Earnings Advance 18%

(RTTNews) - Yum! Brands Inc. (YUM) released a profit for its third quarter that gained ground compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line rose to $629 million, or $1.00 per share. This was up from $535 million, or $0.87 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.07 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 2.4% to $3.43 billion. This was up from $3.35 billion last year.
