YRC Worldwide Q2 Loss Reduces - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Transportation company YRC Worldwide, Inc. (YRCW) posted a narrower net loss attributable to the company of $15.1 million, or $1.72 per share in the second quarter 2013, versus last year's $22.6 million, or $3.21 per share loss. On average, 5 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected loss per share of $0.64 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.

Quarterly consolidated operating income dropped slightly to $14.3 million, from $15.5 million in the prior-year period. Operating income in 2013 included a $1.3 million loss on asset disposals, compared with $6.5 million gain on asset disposals in 2012, the company added.

Consolidated operating revenue for the period reached $1.24 billion, or 0.7% lower than the $1.25 billion reported a year back. Analysts estimated revenues of $1.26 billion for the quarter.
