WSJ: Williams Cos. To Put Canadian Assets Up For Sale

(RTTNews) - Williams Cos. (WMB) will put its Canadian operations on the block as early as next week and has hired two investment banks to help run the sale process, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing person familiar with the matter.

Williams said earlier this month that it aimed to raise at least $1 billion from asset sales in the first half of this year.

In Canada, Williams processes the off-gas produced by oil-sands upgraders into natural-gas liquids and olefins and operates associated pipeline facilities.

A Williams spokesman declined to comment on the potential sale.
