World's First Smart Carbon-Nanotube Heated Vest Debuts on Kickstarter

Able to operate in temperatures as low as minus 22 degrees Fahrenheit, it will come with a detachable, portable USB battery that stows away in an inside pocket. The battery only takes 3 hours to fully recharge and provides up to 8 hours of controllable warmth, depending upon which of the five settings the wearer chooses. The battery itself weighs just 4 ounces, while the jacket is only 7.8 ounces.

Wearers never need be cold again. The FOOMEXT app (for both iPhone and Android) lets people operate their vests, adjusting the temperature and even scheduling starting and stopping times, all via their smartphones. Washable by hand or machine, the FOOMEXT heated vest is made from flame-retardant material, has an automatic shut-off if it accidentally overheats and runs off a low 5 volt battery.

Even without the IoT smart technology, the FOOMEXT heated vest is the ideal winter garment. Its three-layered construction keeps heat in and wind and cold out while also wicking sweat away from the body.
