(Nasdaq:WJCI), a leading designer and supplier of RF solutions for wireless infrastructure and RFID reader applications, today announced that it will showcase its RFID products at the upcoming 2005 RFID Journal LIVE Conference. RFID Journal LIVE will be held at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers in Chicago, IL, during April 10-12, 2005. WJ's MPR5000 and MPR6000 PCMCIA Type II PC Cards(TM), WTX1000 RFID Transceiver ASIC, and other OEM product solutions will be on display at the company's booth #605.
"WJ continues to expand its portfolio of multi-protocol RFID reader solutions, thereby enabling OEM products to read Class 0, 0+ and 1 tags throughout the supply chain," said Javed Patel, senior vice president of sales and marketing for WJ Communications. "The combination of WJ's vast RF experience, its recently acquired DSP capability, and custom OEM solutions allows VARs, printer manufacturer's and system integrators to leverage the high value of WJ's RFID technology and solutions that are needed to realize their end-product. Attendees will have an opportunity to learn how WJ's RFID products operate in a simple and secure manner in various environments. Please visit the company's booth for live demonstrations."

    RFID Reader Cards

The MPR RFID Cards are Type II PCMCIA compatible and operate with the EPC(TM) Class 0, 0+ and Class 1 RFID standards. They are also upgradeable to future standards, such as Gen2. These small and easy-to-use RFID cards are building blocks for OEM's, system integrators, value-added resellers (VARs) and small business owners developing printer, handheld, fixed and other integrated RFID-enabled end-products.

    WTX1000 ASIC

The WTX1000, the industry-first integrated transceiver IC is specifically targeted for the RFID market. This multi-protocol RFID transceiver ASIC supports EPC Class 0, 1, and Gen2 while operating at UHF frequencies. The WTX1000 ASIC provides the complete transmit and receive functions for a multi-protocol RFID reader. Advantages of using this device include a reduction in component count, high performance, high reliability, and smaller size thus reducing overall system costs and enabling more compact designs.

    RF Semiconductors for RFID

WJ's semiconductor products are ideally suited for the challenging world of RFID readers. The combination of high dynamic-range and rugged reliability make them ideal for demanding RFID applications. Their versatility and ease of use allow them to form the core of any ETSI, ISO or EPC-compliant-reader-solution. WJ's semiconductor products offer low-cost, small size and robust performance in the global HF, UHF and microwave frequency bands. Small size and excellent power efficiency make them applicable for industrial, portable and handheld applications.
