Wisconsin Energy Q3 Profit Declines - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Wisconsin Energy (WEC) reported third-quarter net income of $137.5 million or $0.60 a share, compared to $156.1 million or $0.67 a share for the third quarter of 2012.

On average, nine analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit per share of $0.56 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company noted that its third-quarter earnings were affected by a return to normal weather compared to a much warmer than normal summer last year, and by bill credits to customers in anticipation of a federal grant the company expects to receive for building a biomass-fueled power plant in northern Wisconsin.

Revenues were $1.05 billion, compared to $1.04 billion last year. Analysts expected revenue of $1.02 billion for the quarter.
