Will You Like Facebook's "Dislike" Button?
(RTTNews) - Facebook (FB) is working to create a dislike button, the social networking site's CEO Mark Zuckerberg said at a question-and-answers session.
Zuckerberg said that many have been pondering about this feature for years, but "today is a special day because today is the day that I actually get to say we are working on it, and are very close to shipping a test of it," according to CNBC.com.
Zuckerberg said Facebook wants to limit use of the dislike button to expressing sympathy when someone posts something sad or upsetting.
Despite an apparent user preference for a dislike button, the social networking site has for all these years avoided giving users a facile way to criticize a Facebook status.
Taking another track, Zuckerberg said he is more optimistic about artificial intelligence and virtual reality than other technologists. "All new technology has the ability to do good and bad but I am fundamentally optimistic about human nature and our ability to use these things to do good."
