Waters Corp. Q2 Results Beat Estimates

(RTTNews) - Waters Corp. (WAT) Tuesday reported an increase in second quarter net income to $105.657 million from $96.529 million a year ago. Earnings per share increased to $1.28 from $1.14 last year. On an adjusted basis, net income increased to $109.613 million or $1.32 per share from $103.870 million or $1.22 per share last year.

On average, 17 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $1.27 per share. Analysts estimates usually exclude special items.

Net sales for the quarter climbed three percent to $494.740 million from $481.801 million in the previous year. The sales were impacted by currency by seven percent. Wall Street analysts were looking for $481.71 million.
