Waters Corp. Q1 Profit Rises - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Waters Corp. (WAT) reported that its first quarter 2015 net income increased to $96.06 million from $70.30 million in the prior year. Earnings per share for the first quarter of 2015 were $1.15 compared to $0.82 for the first quarter of 2014.

On a non-GAAP basis, earnings per share were up 32% to $1.21 compared to $0.92 in the prior year quarter.

Quarterly sales were $460 million, an increase of 7% in comparison to sales of $431 million in the first quarter of 2014. Foreign currency translation reduced sales growth by 8%.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $1.02 per share and revenues of $445.25 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
