Waters Corp. Q1 Income Advances 14%

(RTTNews) - Waters Corp. (WAT) released a profit for its first quarter that increased compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line rose to $117.62 million, or $1.46 per share. This was higher than $103.58 million, or $1.26 per share, in last year's first quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.33 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 4.8% to $497.97 million. This was up from $475.25 million last year.
