WatchGuard Helps Strengthen ''Weakest Link'' in Network Security with New End User Training Tool; Launches SecurityWise Sessions as Part of LiveSecurity Service
LiveSecurity subscribers will have access to a new SecurityWisetraining module each calendar quarter. The first SecurityWise module, available now, focuses on how end users can handle e-mail safely.Additional modules, released throughout the year, will help solvesecurity issues with road warriors and telecommuters, improve passworduse and help end users Web surf more safely, avoiding spyware.
Each SecurityWise training module includes a PowerPointpresentation on a relevant security topic, video demonstrations of keyconcepts and extensive speaker's notes and handouts. The modules aredesigned for presenters of any level, and all components are inlanguage that non-technical users can understand. SecurityWise alsoincludes quantifiable course objectives so network administrators canmeasure how user awareness improves after taking the classes.
"With the increasing amount of security regulations andlegislation that demand compliance, network administrators are undermore pressure than ever. Many feel confident about the securitymeasures they've put it place, but are concerned about the troubletheir end users might stumble into, especially since networkadministrators don't always have the time or resources to preparelessons and hold formal training sessions," said Scott Pinzon,Editor-in-Chief of WatchGuard's LiveSecurity Service. "WithSecurityWise, we hope to change that, so end users will no longer bethought of as the 'weakest link' in network security."
"WatchGuard's SecurityWise is an excellent resource which I'mcertain to use again," said Phillip Hotz, VP of Technology at The OhioState Bank. "My associates and I found it to be the most usefultraining aid we have seen; accurate, simple to deploy and easy tocomplete. We enthusiastically recommend the service to anyorganization looking for an effective way to educate their staff andend users on security issues."
