Waste Connections Q4 Results Top Estimates

(RTTNews) - Waste Connections, Inc. (WCN) reported net income for the fourth quarter f $49.4 million or $0.40 per share, compared to $36.0 million or $0.29 per share for the year-ago quarter.

Excluding items, adjusted net income for the fourth quarter was $54.5 million or $0.44 per share, compared to $45.9 million or $0.37 per share, in the prior year quarter.

Revenue for the fourth quarter rose 8.3% to $485.9 million from $448.8 million in the same quarter last year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.43 per share on revenue of $479.59 million for the fourth quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Looking forward, the company forecasts full year 2014 revenue of $2.02 billion to $2.04 billion. Analysts currently expect the company to post revenue of $2.07 billion for the full year 2014.
