Waste Connections Q1 adjusted earnings Beat Estimates

(RTTNews) - Waste Connections (WCN) reported earnings for its first quarter that rose from the same period last year.

The company's profit came in at $124.87 million, or $0.47 per share. This compares with $14.87 million, or $0.06 per share, in last year's first quarter.

Excluding items, Waste Connections reported adjusted earnings of $148.61 million or $0.56 per share for the period.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.55 per share, according to figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company's revenue for the quarter rose 4.6% to $1.14 billion from $1.09 billion last year.
