Waste Connections Profit Rises 56% In Q2

(RTTNews) - Waste Connections (WCN) revealed earnings for its second quarter that climbed compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line totaled $145.46 million, or $0.55 per share. This was up from $93.21 million, or $0.44 per share, in last year's second quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.53 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 61.6% to $1.18 billion. This was up from $0.73 billion last year.
