Volkswagen Says 800,000 Vehicles Affected In CO2 Emissions Probe
(RTTNews) - After irregularities were found in the development of diesel engines, Volkswagen AG (VKW.L) announced that unexplained inconsistencies were found during the course of internal investigations when determining Type Approval CO2 (carbon-dioxide) emissions levels.
Volkswagen noted that around 800,000 vehicles are affected and an initial estimate puts the economic risks at approximately EUR 2 billion.
Volkswagen said it will immediately start a dialog with the responsible authorities regarding the consequences of these findings.
