VMware Q1 Adj. Profit Tops View - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - VMware, Inc. (VMW) Tuesday reported first-quarter net income of $199 million or $0.46 per share, up from $173 million or $0.40 per share in the same period last year.

Adjusted net income for the latest first quarter was $348 million or $0.80 per share, compared to $319 million or $0.74 per share in the prior year quarter. On average, 43 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.79 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenues increased 14 percent to $1.36 billion from $1.19 billion last year, while 40 analysts expected revenues of $1.35 billion.
