Victor Mooney invited to VI Ordinary National Congress in Equatorial Guinea
NEW YORK, June 28, 2017 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- On June 27, 2017, Victor Mooney and his wife, Su-Ping received an official invitation from the Secretary General of the Partido Democratico Guinea Ecuatorial (PDGE), Brother Militant, H.E. Jeronimo Osa Osa Ecoro from Brother Militant, H.E. Anatolio Ndong Mba, Equatorial Guinea Permanent Ambassador to the United Nations in New York.
In a dispatch to Secretary General of PDGE, Mr. Mooney conveyed his gratitude for the honor and pledged to continue working harder and smarter towards reaching the Horizonte 2020 Development Plan goals. Mr. Mooney is currently leading an effort to transform the new capital city of Oyala into a technology hub for Central Africa and Mrs. Mooney has plans for opening a Chinese language center.
I flew the Equatorial Guinea Flag across the Atlantic Ocean on the Spirit of Malabo, now I wear the Partido Democratico Guinea Ecuatorial emblem on my lapel, said Victor Mooney.
The VI Ordinary National Congress of the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea will be held at the Palace of Congresses and International Conferences of Ngolo-Bata from July 4 thru 6. This important meeting for the militancy locally and abroad will discuss important issues of the party. The party has been developing its legislation, regulations, structure and have adopted decisions for the future of it's history.
The PDGE merged as an ambitious political and social project, which spearhead democracy in the country. Once political stability was achieved, H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo promoted the First Ordinary Congress of the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea. It was also at this historic meeting when H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo was chosen as the only candidate for the first presidential election.
In 1991, the Founding President of the PDGE, H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo convened a new National Extraordinary Congress to analyze, with the most important representatives of society, the possibility of establishing a pluralistic democratic framework and thus opening the spectrum to the entrance of new political parties.
Among other things, the delivery of this invitation also marked the three year anniversary of Victor Mooney'stransatlantic row aboard the Spirit of Malabo from Las Palmas, Canary Islands to St. Maarten, DWI. Respectfully, Mr. Mooney paid a courtesy call to Kingdom of the Netherlands diplomatic office in New York where he delivered a memento from Spirit of Malabo for Sint Maarten government.
Mr. Mooney's transatlantic row was sponsored by the Government of Equatorial Guinea with the personal support of H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo. His mission was for AIDS awareness and honor the ancestors that died during transatlantic slave trade. The Mooney's received Equatoguinean nationality on February 2, 2016 and have a second home in Oyala.
The Mooney's are expected to depart over the weekend for Equatorial Guinea.
