ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 20, 2005--Vettro, a leading provider of mobile enterprise applications, today announced that it has teamed up with Peregrine Systems, Inc. (OTC: PRGN) to deliver Vettro FieldMaster for ServiceCenter(R), an integrated service management solution for today's on-demand, mobile workforce. Peregrine is a global provider of industry-leading IT asset and service management software.
Vettro FieldMaster for ServiceCenter allows IT service technicians to be dispatched and view service request queues in real-time on their mobile handsets and Blackberry(R) from Research in Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM). This application allows global organizations to dramatically improve service request response time, facilitate prioritization based upon severity levels and ultimately ensure service level agreements are met. Technicians can quickly access all relevant and current job details, enter requests into ServiceCenter directly from their mobile device and manage the entire service management process from anywhere in the field. This flexibility results in a substantial increase in the number of service requests closed per technician allowing organizations to achieve real productivity gains.
"Mobility is critical to our customers' success, as businesses everywhere are demanding faster, more efficient IT service delivery, and our partnership with Vettro demonstrates our commitment to deliver innovative mobile capabilities to help our customers gain competitive advantages," said Russell Mann, senior vice president of strategic initiatives at Peregrine. "Using Vettro FieldMaster technology, our customers will be able to increase the efficiency and improve the quality of their IT service delivery. By accessing and updating business critical information from their mobile devices while in the field, they can be responsive to their end users' needs anywhere and anytime."
Additionally, direct integration with the phone, email and PIM features of the BlackBerry device allows Vettro FieldMaster users to launch phone calls and emails directly from any contact record within the application.
"On-demand mobility has gone from an add-on to a necessity for today's workforce, as they are quickly realizing that the availability of proficient IT services dramatically bolsters production and efficiency," said Joe Rymsza, president and CEO of Vettro. "By partnering with Peregrine, we are confident that we can help more businesses achieve a truly mobilized workforce."
