Vera Bradley Reports Q2 Profit In Line; Sees Q3 Profit Below Consensus

(RTTNews) - Vera Bradley, Inc. (VRA) reported net income for the second quarter of $7.6 million or $0.19 per share, compared to $15.0 million or $0.37 per share for the year-ago quarter.

Net revenues for the second quarter fell to $120.1 million from $125.4 million in the prior year second quarter ended August 3, 2013.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.19 per share on revenue of $116.78 million for the second quarter.

For the third quarter, the company forecasts net revenues of $123 million to $128 million and earnings per share from continuing operations of $0.18 to $0.20. Analysts currently expect the company to earn $0.26 per share on revenue of $126.71 million for the third quarter.

For fiscal 2015, the company now expects net revenues to be in the range of $520 million to $530 million, compared to its prior guidance of $510 million to $530 million.

The company still expects fiscal 2015 earnings per share from continuing operations to be in the range of $1.00 to $1.10.

Analysts currently expect the company to earn $1.05 per share on revenue of $518.36 million for the fiscal year 2015.
