VCA Inc. Reveals 29% Increase In Q1 Profit

(RTTNews) - VCA Inc. (WOOF) revealed a profit for its first quarter that climbed compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line came in at $53.69 million, or $0.66 per share. This was higher than $41.66 million, or $0.50 per share, in last year's first quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.61 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 12.8% to $563.44 million. This was up from $499.45 million last year.
