USC President, a US Congressman, a Nobel Laureate, United Neuroscience Executives and pioneering scientists are Amongst 2018 award recipients of Brain Mapping Foundation
LOS ANGELES, March 15, 2018 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Society for Brain Mapping and Therapeutics (SBMT) officially announced today they will hold their 15th Annual World Congress at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in DTLA from April 13-15, 2018. The event will include more than 400 scientists, engineers, physicians and surgeons where they will discuss pioneering technologies, policies and science advances in the fields including: multimodality imaging, nanoneurosurgery, nanobioelectronics, neurophotonics, cellular therapeutics (stem cell and neuro-immunotherapey), supercomputing, robotics (brain computer interface), neural transplantation and repair (double hand transplants), neuroengineering, Artificial Intelligence (AI), augmented reality and virtual reality in clinical neuroscience as well as computational and predictive modeling.

The 15th Annual World Congress of SBMT specifically has 80 scientific sessions (400 speakers and 11 keynotes) covering all neurological disorders such as: Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, brain cancer, autism, brain and spine trauma, neuro-psychiatric disorders, stroke, epilepsy, spinal disorders (including practical cadaver lab), neurovascular disorders, opioid addiction, brain violence and neuro-ophthalmology. The evening will kick off with a VIP Cocktail Reception from 6PM – 7:30PM in the Tiffany Ballroom in the Millennium Biltmore Hotel which includes a live band, cocktails and red-carpet arrivals. The evening then continues in the Crystal Ballroom for a Black-Tie Dinner and Awards from 7:30PM – 11PM.

Max Nikias, recipient of the Humanitarian Award; Dr. Jeremy Richman, recipient of the Beacon of Courage and Dedication Award; Nobel Laureate Dr. Eric Richard Kandel, Former UCI Vice Chancellery Dr. Howard Federoff and Dr. Jonathan Kipnis, recipients of the Pioneer in Medicine Award; US Congressman Ted W. Lieu, recipient of the Pioneer in Healthcare Policy Award; United Neuroscience Co-founder Lou Reese, United Neuroscience Co-Founder Mei Mei Hu, United Neuroscience Co-Founder Dr. Chang Yi Wang and Dr. Bahram Jalali, recipients of the Pioneer in Technology Award; Dr. Warren Boling and EU center Associate DirectorChristine Caly, recipients of the Golden Axon Award; and Dong Song and Wonhye Lee, recipients of the Young Investigator Award.
